Beirut - The aftermath of what was initially being dubbed as a fireworks accident, has now been blamed on 2750 tonnes of Ammonium Nitrate stored at the port.

Ammonium nitrate is mostly utilized in fertilizers. It has an RE factor of 1/0.74 compared to TNT. Meaning the explosion likely had a yield of 2 kilotons TNT equivalent, effectively the yield of a tactical nuclear warhead.
